On November 30, Ambassador Mark Brzezinski, accompanied by his wife Natalia and a team from U.S. Embassy Sweden, travelled to Västerås for the new Ambassador’s very first official trip outside Stockholm. At the Mobile Embassy, set up in the Västerås City Hall, Mayor Britt Sandström and Handelskammaren Mälardalen’s Agneta Berliner greeted guests and the Embassy team.
After the official opening, the Mälardalen Chamber of Commerce hosted an executive lunch with local businesses interested in expanding their commercial links with the United States. The rest of the afternoon was dedicated to the students of Västerås, who shared their connections, dreams and questions during a wide-ranging discussion with Ambassador Brzezinski, and while snapping photos afterwards with the Ambassador in the U.S. “Embassy-in-a-Box.”
Closing the Day we were treated to classic American rock music by local musicians “The Americans,” consisting of American citizens, but long-time Västerås area residents Mike Turner and Reggie Brock.
