Here you will read about setting an appointment online for your visit to the American Citizen Services in Stockholm and how to change or cancel your appointment. You cannot set up an appointment over the phone.
How to schedule an appointment
In the step-by-step instructions for each service you will find a link to our appointment website. Simply click on that link and choose a date and time for you to come in. For a passport appointment for instance, you go to our passport services pages and for a notarial to our notarial services pages. Making, changing, or canceling an appointment is free of charge. Each applicant will receive an individual appointment identification number and password, guaranteeing privacy and maximum flexibility in making and cancelling appointments. Please print and keep this information as you will need it to change or cancel your appointment if you no longer need it, or cannot make the time or date you have chosen. Appointments may be scheduled three months in advance.

Prepare the required forms before you come in before setting up your appointment please don't forget to follow the instructions for your service, so you can prepare for your visit. Download, print, complete and bring the required forms and supporting documents, and get the right format photos.

Is a separate appointment required for each person?
A separate appointment is required when reporting the birth of a child in Sweden to U.S. citizen parents at the U.S. Embassy in Stockholm. However, separate appointments are not required for passport appointments. When you enter our online appointment system, the second screen says that each family member should make an individual appointment for the services required. This is NOT required for a visit to Stockholm. The policy in Stockholm is to allow up to two children per passport appointment. Simply select the service you require, and list the names of all adult family members attending the appointment or receiving consular services in the spaces provided for “non-applicants attending appointments” in the relevant screen. This is not necessary when making appointments for notarial services only. There are separate appointment calendars for passport and for notarial services. If you wish a passport service and a notary service you will need an appointment for each. You may of course pick a date on which you can schedule both.
Appointments are mandatory. Customers with an emergency requiring immediate attention, e.g. when your passport is lost or stolen, may be admitted during our regular working hours. Please see our contact information for details.
